Ingredients
- 250 grams minced meat
(preferably beef)
- 1 medium onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 3 tbsp gluten-free bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Freshly ground black
pepper
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil (I
use canola oil)
Method
- Put the onion and garlic in the food processor and grind until they become a paste.
- Add to them the meat, parsley, gluten-free bread crumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Pulse the machine until all ingredients are well mixed.
- Put the meat mixture in the fridge for half an hour.
- Take out from the fridge and form the meat into medium-size balls.
- Put the oil in a deep pan and cook the meatballs in the oil on all sides until golden brown.
- Add 1 cup of our gluten-free home-made tomato sauce to the meatballs with around 1/4 cup of hot water. Let it simmer for 6-7 minutes until the sauce is almost dry and the meatballs are done.
Tip: You can use the meatballs
with tomato sauce on top of cooked gluten-free spaghetti or any other type of
gluten-free pasta, or use it to fill a gluten-free baguette “Subway”
style. Top it with grated cheese (if you can eat dairy products) and toast it
in a preheated oven.
Yields: 16 medium meatballs
